Doubt Is Not the Enemy

Readers sometimes ask how a publication can expose fraud in the church on one page and argue for the resurrection on the next. The question assumes the two are in tension. They are not. They are the same discipline.

The skepticism that refuses a ministry's press release is the skepticism that refuses to dismiss the empty tomb with a wave of the hand. Both follow the evidence where it leads. Both refuse to let the desired conclusion — "my pastor could never" or "miracles cannot" — outrun the facts.

Christianity has never asked for blind faith. It asked for trust grounded in testimony, corroborated, examined, and argued. Luke wrote so that his reader might have certainty about the things he had been taught. John wrote with explicit purpose: that you may believe, on the evidence presented.
